The Farmer and the Snake

The Farmer and the Snake

The Farmer and the Snake

;

Once upon a time, in a quiet countryside, there lived a kind-hearted farmer. One cold winter's day, as the farmer was walking through his fields, he stumbled upon a frozen snake lying on the ground.

The snake looked up at the farmer with pleading eyes and whispered weakly, "Please, kind sir, won't you help me? I am freezing and cannot move."

The farmer, feeling pity for the snake, decided to take it home and warm it by the fireplace. He gently picked up the snake and carried it back to his house.

As the snake warmed up, it regained its strength and slithered over to the farmer. Without warning, it lunged and sank its fangs into the farmer's hand.

Shocked and in pain, the farmer cried out, "Why did you bite me? I saved your life!"

The snake simply replied, "You knew I was a snake when you picked me up."

The moral of the story is:

Be cautious of helping those who have shown themselves to be harmful in the past. Sometimes, people or creatures may not change their nature, no matter how much kindness they receive.
